How to Sell a Tire Rotation (Without Sounding Pushy)
A tire rotation moves the tires to different positions so they wear evenly, since the front and rear wear at different rates.
Why it matters to the customer
Even wear makes a set of tires last thousands of miles longer and keeps grip balanced. Skipping it wastes the tire investment and can void some tire warranties.
Signs it's due
- Uneven tread depth front to rear
- Due by mileage / with every oil change
- Tire warranty requires documented rotations
When to recommend it
Every 5,000–7,500 miles (commonly with each oil change).
How to present it on the drive
Cheap, easy, trust-building, and it protects a purchase they already made. Great attach to any oil change or tire sale, and note the warranty requirement.
Handling the "no"
"Is it really worth it?"
For the cost, yes — it can add thousands of miles to your tires and a lot of tire warranties actually require documented rotations to stay valid. We'll note it on the RO for you.
